HST.979 Dynamics of Biomedical Technologies


Class Info

Presents a systematic approach to developing a biomedical product and launching a startup company to successfully commercialize that product. Faculty and outside experts discuss assigned readings and lecture on a range of relevant topics. Students work in project teams dedicated to finding a commercial solution to an important clinical need, and interact with clinicians, potential customers, other stakeholders, potential competitors and expert consultants. Students present their analyses and solutions regarding each of the critical issues their business would face in addressing the identified clinical need. Enrollment limited.

This class has no prerequisites.

HST.979 will not be offered this semester. It will be instructed by C. Berke, J. Tolkoff, R. J. Cohen and R. Anders.

Lecture occurs 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM on Tuesdays in E25-119.

This class counts for a total of 9 credits.
