Introduction to the basic concepts and results of standard, i.e., Zermelo-Fraenkel, set theory, the axioms of ZF, ordinal and cardinal arithmetic, the structure of the set-theoretic universe, the axiom of choice, the (generalized) continuum hypothesis, inaccessibles, and beyond.

This class has no prerequisites.

8.282[J] will not be offered this semester. It will be instructed by V. McGee.

Lecture occurs 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays in 4-261.

This class counts for a total of 9 credits. This class counts as a HASS H. This is a graduate-level class.
