4.522 Visual Computing II
Introduces advanced topics in shape grammar theory and applications. Includes an introductory component on shape grammars for students new to the area. Discusses generalizations of the shape grammar formalism that provide alternative ways of computing and representing designs. These include parametric grammars and parametric design, parallel grammars, and color grammars. Presents material through lectures and in-class, applied exercises. Additional work required of students taking the graduate version.
This class has 4.520 as a prerequisite.
4.522 will not be offered this semester. It will be available in the Spring semester, and will be instructed by T. Knight.
This class counts for a total of 12 credits.
