2.06 Fluid Dynamics


Class Info

Introduction to principal concepts and methods of fluid mechanics. Pressure, hydrostatics, and buoyancy. Control volume analysis. Mass conservation and momentum conservation for moving fluids. Viscous fluid flows, flow through pipes. Dimensional analysis. Boundary layers, and lift and drag on objects.

This class has 2.001 as a prerequisite.

2.06 will not be offered this semester. It will be available in the Spring semester, and will be instructed by G. H. McKinley.

Lecture occurs 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM on Mondays and Wednesdays in 3-270.

This class counts for a total of 6 credits.
