18.901 Introduction to Topology


Class Info

Introduces topology, covering topics fundamental to modern analysis and geometry. Topological spaces and continuous functions, connectedness, compactness, separation axioms, covering spaces, and the fundamental group.

This class has 18.100A, 18.100B, 18.100P, and 18.100Q as prerequisites.

18.901 will be offered this semester (Fall 2017). It is instructed by G. Lusztig.

Lecture occurs 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays in 4-257.

This class counts for a total of 12 credits.
