18.781 Theory of Numbers


Class Info

An elementary introduction to number theory with no algebraic prerequisites. Primes, congruences, quadratic reciprocity, diophantine equations, irrational numbers, continued fractions, partitions.

This class has no prerequisites.

18.781 will not be offered this semester. It will be available in the Spring semester, and will be instructed by D. A. Vogan.

Lecture occurs 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in 2-139.

This class counts for a total of 12 credits.
