18.737 Algebraic Groups


Class Info

Structure of linear algebraic groups over an algebraically closed field, with emphasis on reductive groups. Representations of groups over a finite field using methods from etale cohomology. Some results from algebraic geometry are stated without proof.

This class has 18.705 as a prerequisite.

18.737 will not be offered this semester. It will be available in the Fall semester, and will be instructed by G. Lusztig.

Lecture occurs 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM on Mondays and Wednesdays in 2-142.

This class counts for a total of 12 credits.
