18.04 Complex Variables with Applications


Class Info

Complex algebra and functions; analyticity; contour integration, Cauchy's theorem; singularities, Taylor and Laurent series; residues, evaluation of integrals; multivalued functions, potential theory in two dimensions; Fourier analysis, Laplace transforms, and partial differential equations.

This class has 18.02, 18.03, and 18.032 as prerequisites.

18.04 will be offered this semester (Spring 2018). It is instructed by J. Orloff.

Lecture occurs 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in 2-143.

This class counts for a total of 12 credits.
