10.50 Analysis of Transport Phenomena

Class Info

Unified treatment of heat transfer, mass transfer, and fluid mechanics, emphasizing scaling concepts in formulating models and analytical methods for obtaining solutions. Topics include conduction and diffusion, laminar flow regimes, convective heat and mass transfer, and simultaneous heat and mass transfer with chemical reaction or phase change.

This class has 10.301, and 10.302 as prerequisites.

10.50 will not be offered this semester. It will be available in the Fall semester, and will be instructed by M. Z. Bazant and W. M. Deen.

Lecture occurs 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in 66-110.

This class counts for a total of 12 credits.
