1.060B Fluid Mechanics II

Class Info

Mechanics principles for incompressible fluids. Drag and lift forces. Analysis of pipe systems, pumps and turbines. Gradually varied flow in open channels, significance of the Froude number, backwater curves. Application of principles through open-ended studio exercises.

This class has 1.060A as a prerequisite.

1.060B will not be offered this semester. It will be available in the Spring semester, and will be instructed by B. Marelli.

Lecture occurs 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in 1-132.

This class counts for a total of 6 credits.
